Welcome to this month’s edition. Highlights include:
Damian Piper CBE our Resilience Coach starts this month edition with: Mining Not Moaning: Finding the Gems in the Rough “Life, as we all know, rarely unfolds in a perfectly smooth, predictable manner. It’s more like a winding country lane, full of unexpected potholes, perhaps some fly-tipping, and the occasional breathtaking views that wasn’t on the map. We’ve all been there, haven’t we?”
A life that exceeded expectations. I saw this question on Twitter/X recently: “If you wrote your biography what title would you give it?” Mine would be ‘Turned out better than I expected.’ After an exciting 24-year military career and an even more successful career in Social Care supporting adults with a learning disability, I have now retired. Retirement brings both reflection and analysis of a life.
One from me: KEEPING A PERSPECTIVE – THIS TOO SHALL PASS “It is snowing outside, and I am carrying an injury. I have flu-like symptoms, and I am about to go for a nine-mile run. Joyce, my wife tells me I should give it a miss today. “But Joyce you don’t understand if I miss a run it is going to affect my time when I race at the weekend; the team need the points; there is a trophy on the line, and I am the captain.” I am pretty sure I hear Joyce murmur ““Diva” and then “Prima Donna” This was some years ago when I was an athlete for both Colchester Harriers and my Army unit.
Graham Belgum has two important messages from his excellent series of ‘Thought for the week ahead: Innovation Part 2 = Implementation and Appreciation. I highly recommend Graham’s weekly posts on LinkedIn.
There are lots more in this month’s edition so let’s dive in together……
